To be a successful online marketer, you must be able to sell.
The good news is that people like to buy.
The unwelcome news is that they hate to be sold to.
So, how do you get past it?
In this article You will discover exactly how you can make your pitch without “selling”.
You can use this method with everything where you want people to act in a certain way.
This is all about selling without having to “sell”.
At the end of this article, we have a gift for you for just reading it.
Step 1: Preparing for the Close
- Your mindset is the most important thing that is holding you back from making the sale.
- You must understand that it is OK to sell if you do it the right way. The main thing is that you should first provide value before you make your offer.
- Before you make any pitch, you should also know what possible objections your prospect might have.
Armed with this knowledge will make it easier for you to make your offer. The resistance to any offer will be much lower.
If you do it right, they might even ask to buy from you even before you make your final offer.
Changing Your Mindset
It is quite normal to feel reluctant to ask somebody to buy from you but if your offer will help them, you need not be afraid. You will do them a favour.
If you are afraid that people would say “no”, you should not be because it just means that they are not ready to buy yet.
That is why your targeting is so important when you look for your ideal customer. They will be really interested in what you have to offer and if you can show clearly how your product will help them getting the desired results, then you should never be afraid of making your offer.
Come straight out and tell people who your offer will not benefit and those that stay will be those that want your offer.
They will even be more interested in your offer because they will relate more to you and see that you are there to help them.
Always be honest and tell people that you have an offer for them at the end and it will not come as a surprize.
This makes it a lot less uncomfortable for you when it comes time to actually make a pitch.
Step 2: Deliver Value Before the Pitch
You should not be afraid of offering your best tips and advice freely. It will get your prospects to trust you. Show how your product will help them achieve their goals.
You should approach every business transaction being worth the effort to invest in a good relationship with your prospective buyer.
For Example:
Say your product helps people to get a higher conversion rate.
First your ad shows an offer of a free lead magnet that shows them how to get more traffic to make more sales.
Once they have downloaded this gift and they are getting more traffic, you offer to show them how they can build a list by sending this traffic first to a capture page.
Now you contact them and ask how it is going and if they are getting results.
If they answer positively then you can ask them if they want, you to help them to make even more sales. They might be eager to get more help and then you make your pitch.
Now you need not work hard to convince them to invest in your product because you have already helped them to get results.
The more value you give people before the sale, the easier the sale will be.
Step 3: Know the Objections
If you are willing to do some research to find out what the objections people might have, you can think of ways to overcome these objections in your pitch even before they come up.
By addressing these objections in advance of making your pitch, your listener will not think of it anymore and will be more willing to hear what your offer is.
Summary
To make a good offer, you should be certain that your product will help the buyer to get a solution to their problem.
By knowing that, you will do them a disservice if you do not offer it to them.
Deliver value before you make your pitch so they can see that you are there to help them. Be honest and tell them in advance that you have an offer.
Address any possible objections people might have even before you make your pitch so they can give more attention to your offer and not think of excuses.
The Close Formula
Originally John Carlton produced this formula:
- Here is what I got.
- Here is what it will do for you.
- Here’s what I want you to do next.
As usual Frank Kern was not satisfied with it and added some more steps, and it does work even better.
The first three steps stay the same, but you can add the following:
- Give a reason why they should take the next step. Give a guarantee that takes away all the risk for them.
- You should also add some bonus so that they see even more value in your offer.
To get them to take your offer sooner, you can add some incentive like it is only valid for that day or that the bonus will be taken away later.
